As a Sales Specialist, you are responsible for developing hotel revenues, maintaining relationships with existing clients, and approaching new clients—primarily through personal sales: calling, visiting, networking, and conducting tours. Your duties and responsibilities:
- Achieving the budgeted revenue and personal/team sales goals, maximizing profitability
- Increasing account production for business clients through overnight stays and raising contracted rates by working with a clear account plan
- Setting up an RFP strategy
- Handling RFPs for your own accounts
- Further building relationships with contacts
- Finding future contacts
- Increasing the banquet revenue for these accounts
- Handling incoming requests
- Implementing sales plans and strategies that stimulate measurable additional occupancy
- Increasing average rates, volume, food and beverage, and banquet sales
- Producing weekly/monthly reports on results
- Analyzing current/potential market and sales trends
- Coordinating activities to increase revenue and market share, ensuring actual sales meet or exceed the established revenue plan
- Searching for new local accounts for overnight stays and meetings
- Organizing regular business visits both outside and within the hotel to present the product and develop cooperation
- Regularly conducting acquisition to find new potential clients
- Participating in trade shows
- Providing information to guests (e.g.: loyalty programs, local attractions, restaurants, facility information) to enhance the guest experience
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and external contacts to generate group and/or convention business, including room sales, food and beverage sales and catering/banquet services
- Planning conferences and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinating with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and potential clients
What we are looking for:
- Completed college education, preferably Hotel or Commercial Management
- Some work experience in a similar position
- Good command of Dutch and English
- Knowledge and experience in the Hospitality industry
- You take initiative and can work well independently
- Strong sense of need to achieve goals and success
- Good listening skills and ability to anticipate business needs.
